Tennessee State Preservation Laws

Tennessee has three sets of state laws that directly affect Native American cultural resource protection: the Archaeology statutes, laws pertaining to burial sites and human remains, the statute that created the Tennessee Commisison of Indian Affairs. The articles below briefly explain and identify each statute. The last article looks at some of the strengths and weaknesses of the laws and how they work in the "real world".
