Nashville's Native American History - Go To Nashville Toll Bridge Site Description

The Nashville Toll Bridge was torn down long ago, but it crossed the Cumberland River in the vicinity of where the Victory Memorial Bridge stands now. The following directions bring you to the Victory Memorial Bridge along a section of 8th Avenue and James Robertson Parkway that was actually traveled by the Cherokees on the Trail of Tears.

To get to the Nashville Toll Bridge Site (or it's vicinity) from I-40, take the Broadway exit and go east on Broadway. Turn left on 8th Ave. Take James Robertson Parkway immediately after 8th Ave. crosses Church St. Stay on James Robertson Parkway as it curves around the base of Capitol Hill and you will cross the river on the Victory Memorial Bridge.
